However, they may frequently cause the formation of deposits and scabs into conditioner and pelleting         chamber, causing frequent production stops to clean the chamber manually and high risk of cross   contamination between different formulas. Furthermore, if the press is located in cold weather or in places with high temperature swings between day  and night, the formation of condensation inside the pellet chamber can give rise to salmonella bacteria,  especially while the press is not working, because tribo-chemical or friction-related chemical reactions are more likely during downtime.

To prevent the phenomenon and increase production time, reducing clean stops, La Meccanica has introduced an electrical heating system by special plates.

The electrical heating plates can be placed on the door of the microdosers, on the conditioner and/or on the front conveyor/main door of the pellet mill.

They are set up to keep the inner temperature of the chamber at 85°C, to prevent the formation of condensation and avoid the formation of scabs into the conditioner, keeping the inside chamber always clean, dry and safe.

Conditioners with heating plates are available in the single and double version.

Here you can see La Meccanica's double electrically heated conditioner model MS 500EH-2630.
Made of stainless steel, this product can count on external insulation in mattress with ecological wool, completely inorganic, designed for never giving off fumes or vapors.

The maximum temperature of the plate 135 °C and the resistance is certified according to ATEX standards to ensure complete safety. In conclusion, pelleting continues to provide advantages to animals, but its use and purpose is growing to include a better understanding of its role in nutrient utilization and expanded use in microbial pathogen risk mitigation. As meat production continues to address sustainability and food safety concerns raised by consumers, the feed manufacturing industry is responding by providing solutions to maximize nutrient utilization and improve animal feed safety.
Through a proper conditioning its possible to produce quality products and increase the efficiency of the pelleting process.
