The rotary screener consists of a grid of sieving rotating inside a cylindrical chamber. In this machine, the sieved product falls centrally on the screen and is centrifuged to the outside. In this way, the finer part is separated from the coarser part of the product flowing on the screener. Its efficiency is ensured by the shape of the steps of the screening grid.

This type of sifter is often used as a pellet sifter, with the sieved fine particles being fed back into the pellet mill. It is also used as a bypass for hammer mills, routing fine particles outside the hammer mill to the next phase of the production process.

Areas of use:

  • After pelleting and cooling line

  • After the extrusion and drying line

  • Before the hammer mill

  • Before bagging line

  • In the bulk cargo line

Benefits:

  • High capacity

  • Low power consumption

  • Absence of vibrations

  • Small footprint

  • Low costs of maintenance

  • No pellet damage

The rotary sifter is small in physical size making it easy to install, but it still has a capacity range from 20  t/h to 150  t/h. The sifter can either have a single or double deck screen area, it can be controlled by an inverter to change the speed for different products.

La Meccanica’s rotative screener SRT - 2000 has a pellet capacity (diam. 3,5 mm) of 20 t/h and a crumbled capacity of 18  t/h with a sifting surface of 2,9 m² and motors’ power of 2,2 kW.
