La Meccanica main sponsor of Geo Film Festival
From 28 September 2023 to 26 September 2024, the Cittadella Geo Film Festival – GeOFF - Fourth Edition will be presented again in Cittadella.
This year, our company has chosen to concretely support the event, believing in the project and in the topics covered that are particularly close to our hearts this year: environmental sustainability.
The Environment: The elements Earth, Water, Fire, and Air were chosen as objectives in the creation and production of medium-short films, for which each of us is called to participate and make it a professional, social, and moral goal.
La Meccanica wants to pursue the objectives proposed by the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations General Assembly for sustainable development, supporting projects aimed at concretely combating the consequences of natural disasters linked to these changes and participating in this rebirth. The biomass sector, in which we have been operating for over 60 years, also enters the context of a company policy that respects the principle of sustainability, which allows the use of renewable energy with zero emissions with the reuse of organic waste products, eliminating the problem of their storage or destruction in incinerators.
The GeOFF is organized by the Officina delle Idee Association and includes the screening of 40 specially selected films/shorts which will tell the many aspects and the thousand facets of the green world between ideas, ideas, provocations, suggestions and opportunities to reflect on key issues plan related to air pollution, land consumption, waste of resources, a new way of conceiving energy, the need to change lifestyles that have compromised our planet and the need to find a new balance with nature, and much more.
All screenings will be held in Torre di Malta every last Thursday of the month as listed:
For 2023:
- 28 September 2023: opening night;
- November 30, 2023;

For 2024:
- January 25, 2024;
- February 29, 2024;
- March 28, 2024;
- April 25, 2024;
- May 30, 2024;
- June 27, 2024;
- August 29, 2024.
Gala evening and awards ceremony: 26 September 2024.
It will be a real pleasure to accompany you throughout the twelve months of this event, and help bring national and international directors who want to be present to the city, with the aim also of discussing the important issues addressed with teenagers and young people.
Spectators will be able to express their opinion on the films by voting directly in the theater, thanks to VOTAPP, an application, available for Android and iOS smartphones, created by the students of the Barsanti Technical Institute of Castelfranco Veneto exclusively for GeOFF. The most voted film will win the International Cinematography Award “The Golden Earth”.
